Taylor Swift Ready For It?

And now for something completely different! Taylor Swift is back just a week after the controversial ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ hit the airwaves and this time she is ready to lighten up the mood.

As the start of the second Reputation single, ‘Ready For It?’ kicks in you would be forgiven for thinking that the 27-year-old was about to continue down her provocative path. The synths pound and scrape, in what is a floor vibrating opening. Swift takes the time to clear the frog from her throat, and with that done we are treated to MC Taylor.

Any pretence that this is going to be a dark ode is soon quashed, as Swift raps lines like:

“He can be my jailer
Burton to this Taylor
Every lover known in comparison is a failure
I forget their names now
I'm so very tame now
Never be the same now, now.”

The lyrics might come across as cheesy, but boy are they feel-good. They also cleverly play up to Swift’s media image, with references to, stolen hearts, forgotten ex-lovers, and holding of the vendettas.

As the breezy chorus comes around it is clear Swift is enamoured with her paramour. The songstress sings:

“I know I'm gonna be with you So I take my time..”

‘Ready For It?’ Is a, light-hearted, carefree ditty, that will prove to be the antidote for those fans who are not too sure about ‘Look What You Made Me Do’.

For those not so enamoured with the pop-star, the genteel rhymes are likely not going to change their opinion. Nevertheless, it’s a fun offering from T-Swizzle.
